Friday Night Lights actor Gaius Charles is joining Grey’s Anatomy in a recurring role for the ninth season.
TVLine.com, which broke the story, says that details of Charles’ character have not been revealed.
Charles played Brian ‘Smash’ Williams in Friday Night Lights; his other TV credits include NCIS, Pan Am and Necessary Roughness.
The new series of Grey’s Anatomy begins on US television in September.
