Med tech firms create 875 jobs in 2011
Wednesday, February 01 10:41:46 Over the last twelve months, medical technology companies publicly announced the investment of around E170m and the creation of an estimated 875 jobs, according to the Irish Medical Device Association (IMDA). The figures come as the IMDA published its four year strategy (2012 -2015) for the med-tech sector today. The 250 medical technology companies in Ireland, which consists of both domestic and FDI companies, export E7.2 billion worth of product annually and employ 25,000 people – the highest number of people working in the industry in any country in Europe, per head of population.
